When we started to gather information about the licence Yo-kai Watch, we decided to work on our own, meaning we would only trust what we got by ourselves than what is written online. We stumbled upon crazy things online, contradicting official information.
It has been months since we've been working on our own on Yo-kai Watch data, not only in English but in every languages the game has been released in.
Yo-kai Watch is a huge licence with more data than people can imagine. We started as complete noob, with almost nothing to work on, discovering things by ourselves, asking us questions on various things. Even though we are on our own, we tried to find answers on some wikis and it led us to troubles:
Why is Jibanyan having two different skills ? Is it the wikis fault or our fault ? And we realized we have lost 2 hours of our time thanks to wikis.
Basing our work on official data can only lead us to the truth and so far, we managed to clearly see how devs worked on the game, avoiding terrible mistakes huge time waste.
We might not have all the data you've been looking for on the site, but what has been added is double checked, proofread, etc.
Recently, we worked on Yo-criminals. According to Wikis, this is not a big deal: a picture, a name, a charge. The reality is actually different:
- Yo-criminals in Yo-kai Watch 1, 2, 3 are different.
- Yo-criminals in Yo-kai Watch 1, 2, 3 do not always share the same name.
- Yo-criminals in Yo-kai Watch 2 are 4 to be arrested twice, with 2 different charges.
- There are 72 Yo-criminals in Yo-kai Watch 2.
- Yo-criminals in Yo-kai Watch 1 have different charges than the 2 and 3.
We only have a few new artworks of the new Yo-criminals missing, but the real data is here. Now think about it, Yo-criminals in the game is an optionnal feature that can be skipped, no one cares if a Yo-kai is called Mummer instead of Bummer. But what about medalliums ?
That being said, you are warned, be careful when you read Yo-kai Watch wikis.
Even though we do not use any info from wikis, we want to be fair and say thanks to fans adding contents on wikis. It helps in promoting the game.
Is sharing wrong information helpful ? It's up to you to decide.
